Work on biology that moves.
Unobio is a small, focused team building a translational bioplatform — modellers, assay scientists, clinicians, and a handful of operators who keep the whole thing running. We hire rarely, deliberately, and almost always for on-site roles. If that sounds right, read on.
WHO WE ARE
A small bioplatform with large-team output.
We started Unobio in 2024 around a single inversion: start every drug program from patient data, and pressure-test against patient biology at every step. Two years later, that inversion is paying off — at industry-leading translation rates and cycle times.
We’re a small team in Miami — a third PhD scientists, a third engineers, a third everyone else who keeps a translational platform running. We are not, and do not plan to become, a 500-person company.
Where you’ll work.
Two buildings, one platform. Modellers sit two desks from assay scientists; clinicians sit next to chemists. The geography is the point.
Miami HQ.
Miami Lab.
We’re an on-site company for science roles. Wet labs need hands; modellers need the wet lab. We support flexible schedules, work-from-home days, and asynchronous collaboration across time zones — but we don’t run remote-only science roles. If you’re looking for fully-remote science work, we’re not the right fit, and that’s okay.
What we hire for.
Six things show up across every interview loop. They’re not vague — they’re how we actually pick.
Patient biology is the only ground truth.
No transformed cell lines, no convenience models. If you find translation boring, you will not enjoy it here.
Computational and experimental are one team.
Modellers ship code with assay scientists, share KPIs, and ship together. Foundation models update nightly with wet-lab readouts.
Default to weekly data sharing.
Partners get a live data room from week one. We don’t hide failures behind quarterly reveals — and we don’t hide them internally either.
Programs ship, papers follow.
Our success metric is candidates in clinic, not citation counts. Publication is encouraged once IP is protected — never as a substitute for translation.
Smaller teams, longer tenures.
We hire deliberately and aim for six-year median tenures. The work compounds. So does the compensation.
Disagreement in the open, always.
Direct critique is a kindness. We surface disagreements early and resolve them in writing. Quiet politicking has no purchase here.
Open roles.

Don’t see your role? We keep a short list of speculative applications for senior scientists and engineers we’d hire if the right person walked in the door. We read every one.
Speculative application →The hiring loop.
No surprise interviews, no take-home traps. About three weeks end-to-end, six hours of your time total. Honest feedback if it isn’t a fit — we owe you that.
Intro
A call with the hiring lead. We talk about the work, you ask the rude questions.
Technical loop
Two technical conversations with people you’d actually work with. No whiteboard.
Deep dive
A work sample drawn from real problems on the platform. We respect your time and pay for it if it runs long.
Team day · remote
A half-day over video with the wider team. You meet the people you’d work with, walk through a recent problem together, and have a casual chat with three teammates who aren’t hiring you.
Offer
Decision within 48 hours of the team day. Compensation transparent, references provided.

Two open roles right now — or write to us anyway. Small teams notice good letters.
